Hi. My name is Richard Stiles. I am an existential Counsellor and Life Coach working in private practice from my home in Camberley, Surrey, UK. I have been practising Mindfulness for over 20 years and try as much as I can to bring a mindful approach to my everyday life. The idea of Mindfulness is simple – just pay attention to what’s going on right now without wanting to change it or judge it. But it’s not easy and that’s why even after 20 years I still need to practice every day.
For me the benefits are that I feel alive – more engaged with the world around me and with the people in it. It brings a brightness and definition to my life, like I’m living it in HD at least for some of the time. It reminds me that I am not my thoughts and that I can choose at any moment to let go.
I encourage my counselling and coaching clients to get in touch with the ‘here and now’ of their life. To experience life as it is happening is a wonderful gift that we can give ourselves. In this blog I will share my thoughts on living more mindfully. Please feel free to comment on any post and share as much as you like.
Happy reading.
Richard
